Here's a cool old 1921 vintage CG Conn New Wonder series curved soprano sax in original nickel plate, serial number 76029. Most of the Conns you see from this era are either silver, gold, or, more often, relacquered. Nickel was a rarely chosen option, leaving them much more unique today. This one is in exquisite condition, but does need some work to be in playing shape.

This nickel plate looks fantastic, with only minor surface cosmetic scratching on the body tube. Nickel is much more durable than silver or lacquer, and it shows, with no major finish wear even on the touch points. There are no resolders or past dent work, all is great from top to bottom. The sax is missing one roller (low C key) but is otherwise all intact, and ships in its original had case.

This saxophone hasn't been repadded in a long time, and is most likely due for a fresh repad/overhaul. The current old white pads have a lot of leaks and sticky keys. You may be able to get by with having your local replace the worst of them and adjust it out, but optimally, you'll want to get it repadded. We are selling this sax as-is.

Once you get the work done, this will be a cool old horn. It does feature keywork to high F, unlike many older sopranos that only go to Eb, and the nickel plating should really give you a nice buzz. If you (like me) have an affinity for a true curved soprano, which carries more of the classic saxophone tone and response, this is a great way to go.
